Duties/Responsibilities:

Explosive Technician Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of solutions and other materials used in energetic synthesis.
  • Responsible for monitoring explosive synthesis via remote camera and computer logic systems while watching for normal vs. abnormal conditions to ensure quality product.
  • Responsible for the use of moisture balance, pH systems, and scales including calibration techniques.
  • Responsible for the proper processing techniques of energetic materials including dry materials.
  • Responsible for the proper handling techniques of energetic materials including dry materials.
  • Responsible for the proper transportation and hand delivery techniques of energetic materials and dry materials to various plant locations.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word or related software.

Education and Experience:

Explosive Technician Education & Experience

  • High School diploma
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in energetics or chemical handling.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection (dust mask, PRPA, eta.)
