Safety Coordinator

A self-starter comfortable in both office and field settings while working with employees, supervisors, managers, regulators and customers in a manufacturing environment. Successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a working familiarity with a wide range of OSHA regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepares and conducts required safety training in support of manufacturing activities
Performs and maintains records of safety audits and safety inspections of equipment and processes
Prepares documentation in support of Worker Compensation claims
Ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations and environmental permits
Performs process hazard assessments
Maintains positive and constructive relationships with employees, supervisors and mangers
Prepares reports of accidents, injuries and risk assessments
Coordinates hazardous waste disposal
Demonstrates leadership skill in promoting a positive safety culture
Occasional travel required

Required Skills/Abilities:

Requirements:

Must be able to satisfy ATF possessor requirements

Education and Experience:

Experience:

3-5 years experience having supervisory safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in working with explosives and hazardous chemicals is preferred
Experience with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 – Process Safety Management is preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk distances of 200 yards at a time, climb, sit, and stand; gain access to areas via ladders, stairs, scaffolds, scissor lifts, and boom lifts; wear a respirator.
